MSSP Market News: MSSP Top 250 Revealed

Share

We’re unveiling the MSSP 250 today! Did your company make the list this year? You can check it out when it goes live at this link today. We're unveiling and celebrating this today at MSSP Alert Live in Austin. And we're saving the bigger research report around the MSSP 250 for a special webinar planned for Nov. 18. You can register for that here.

And you know we are doing some more research, too, designed to help MSSPs better understand how their pricing fits in with the market. Many of the top MSSPs have already participated in our Benchmark Pricing Survey and expressed support for the effort. Your responses to the survey are anonymized. We will share the results with participating MSSPs. Don’t miss your chance to be a part of this research. You can participate here.

Meanwhile, if you are close to Austin it's not too late to join us Oct 15 and 16 at MSSP Alert Live. It’s the one time of the year when we bring together our MSSP and MSP audience in person for education, networking and some fun, too.

As always, send any news, tips or insights to me for this column at [email protected].

Today’s MSSP Update

1. CMMC progresses - The security channel is abuzz about CMMC (Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification) again. The U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) announced on Friday that the final rule for CMMC will be available for public review and is expected to be published Oct. 15 in the Federal Register.

2. Network security visibility - SASE provider Cato Networks is expanding the Cato SASE Cloud Platform to incorporate Cato Digital Experience Monitoring. Capabilities include hop-by-hop visibility across the Wi-Fi network, network edge and WAN. Cato Networks says the new release also includes proactive experience management and improved operational efficiency. Earlier this year Reuters reported that Cato Networks is targeting a 2025 IPO.

3. Cyber resilience program launched - Infrastructure and cybersecurity services company Conversant Group is launching of Securitas Summa, which the company says is a comprehensive, end-to-end cyber resilience program. The program integrates the capabilities of Conversant Group’s three companies—Athena7, Fenix24, and Grypho7— to create a solution that combines resistance, rapid recovery, and continuous protection in a single offering.

4. Channel veteran joins NetAlly - NetAlly has appointed Jeff McCullough as vice president of sales for North America. McCullough  is a 25-year channel sales veteran and five-time Channel Chief who most recently served as SolarWinds’ global vice president of cloud and partner sales. In his new role he plans to move NetAlly up-market and scale to the enterprise. He further plans to diversify the company’s product and service portfolio to allow NetAlly to break into new markets including cybersecurity. His agenda will also include attracting new partners looking to accelerate revenue growth via managed network and wireless testing services.

5. Bitdefender is rolling out Scam Copilot—an advanced anti-scam and fraud technology platform integrated into several of its digital life protection consumer products. The company said Scam Copilot proactively monitors, detects, and alerts users to scams and potential fraud during activities such as web browsing, emailing, messaging via apps, texting, and more. It is designed to address the growing threat of cybercriminals using AI and large language models (LLMs) to craft phishing, smishing, and other scam or fraud campaigns that are increasingly difficult to detect with the naked eye.
