Today’s MSSP Alert Market News:

1. Palo Alto Networks, SLB Partner to Strengthens Energy Sector Security: Global energy technology company SLB and Palo Alto Networks are expanding their collaboration to strengthen cybersecurity for the energy sector. SLB will combine its cloud and edge technologies and domain expertise in the energy industry with Palo Alto Networks' cross-industry, platform-based cybersecurity solutions. This will not only help SLB remain on the forefront with its own security infrastructure, but also help drive future enhanced solutions to address evolving cyber threats as the industry's adoption of digital solutions and artificial intelligence accelerates, the companies said.

2. Group-IB Partners with MSSP SecurityHQ: Group-IB, a developer of cybersecurity technologies to investigate, prevent and fight digital crime, has signed a global partnership agreement with SecurityHQ, a global independent MSSP. SecurityHQ will leverage Group-IB's threat intelligence, attack surface management and digital risk protection to bolster its global security operation centers (SOCs), as well as fraud protection services as part of its portfolio to enhance the defenses for its financial services customers. Group-IB's MSSP and MDR Partner Program provides a comprehensive, scalable suite of tools for threat intelligence, threat hunting, and incident response, all with the flexibility of pay-as-you-go licensing, the company said.

3. Cyberbit Receives Investment: Cyberbit, a provider of cybersecurity skill development platforms, has announced a new round of funding from existing investors, including Charlesbank Capital Partners, an established middle-market private investment firm. This transaction, which recapitalizes the company under solely North American ownership and control, will provide significant capital for future acquisitions, expansion and product development, the company said.

4. BeyondID Names CRO: BeyondID, a managed identity solutions provider, has appointed Matt Torgersen as chief revenue officer (CRO). Torgersen brings more than 25 years of experience leading go-to-market initiatives for major software and services organizations, building recurring revenue models that drive significant growth, the company said. Prior to his role at Okta, he was a managing partner at Appirio and also held leadership positions at Antenna Software and Lawson Software.

5. Stellar Cyber Earns Gartner's Recognition: Stellar Cyber, an Open XDR specialist, has been recognized as a Sample Vendor in the Gartner Hype Cycle for Security Operations, 2024 report. According to Gartner, “Security operations technology and services defend IT/OT systems, cloud workloads, applications and other digital assets from attack by identifying threats, vulnerability and exposures. This Hype Cycle helps security and risk management leaders strategize and deliver SecOps capability and functions.”

6. AuthMind Debuts New Platform: AuthMind, an identity security provider, has brought to market its latest platform, which couples its identity security posture management (ISPM) and identity threat detection and response (ITDR) capabilities with agentless deployment. By streamlining deployment, AuthMind enables identity teams to focus on ensuring safe access to critical resources rather than getting bogged down by a lengthy implementation, the company said.

7. Cyberattacks on Senior Executive Growing: Senior executives are prime targets for cybercriminals, with 72% of surveyed cybersecurity professionals in the U.S. reporting that this group has been targeted by cyberattacks in the past 18 months. This trend, highlighted in GetApp’s 2024 Executive Cybersecurity Report, underscores the growing sophistication of attacks, including the rising use of AI-generated deepfakes, which have been involved in 27% of the attacks, according to the GetApp study.

8. FBI, CISA Release Voting Security PSA: The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) and the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) are issuing this public service announcement (PSA) to inform the public that while ransomware attacks against state or local government networks or election infrastructure could cause localized delays, they will not compromise the security or accuracy of vote casting or counting processes. The PSA offers recommendations for how to understand and mitigate the potential impacts of a ransomware incident on election infrastructure
