1. GenAI Security for MSSPs Offered: Prompt Security, a Generative AI (GenAI) security platform provider, has brought to market GenAI product and go-to-market support for MSSPs. The platform's multitenancy and ease of deployment allow MSSPs to onboard new customers with just a few clicks while maintaining full visibility and control. This ensures that MSSPs can deliver comprehensive GenAI risk management quickly, efficiently and at scale, enabling their customers to safely adopt the technology, the company said. Additionally, these capabilities give MSSPs a competitive edge by offering a complete GenAI security solution as part of their portfolio.

2. Guardz and ConnectWise Connect: Guardz, a cybersecurity company securing and insuring small and medium-size businesses (SMBs), has announced the completion of all necessary security certifications as required by ConnectWise, a software company serving MSPs. This collaboration and integration through the ConnectWise Invent program will help Guardz empower more MSPs with streamlined, AI-powered cybersecurity for their numerous customers, the company said. The integration will enable MSPs to seamlessly integrate Guardz incident data into their clients' ConnectWise PSA environment, allowing for effective detection, prioritization and response to incidents.

3. Security Advisory Council Debuts: Netenrich, an MSP and managed detection and response (MDR) provider, has launched its Security Advisory Council. Comprised of cybersecurity experts and industry veterans, the council will provide cyber pros with strategic guidance and insights. Their expertise will be instrumental in helping Netenrich address evolving security challenges and continue to deliver tailored, high-quality security solutions and services to meet customers' needs, the company said.

4. Free Dark Web Monitoring Offered: Insecureweb.com, a specialist in dark web monitoring and threat intelligence solutions, has partnered with UTMStack to launch a free dark web monitoring and threat intelligence service. The service allows individuals and organizations to monitor email addresses, social network usernames and corporate domains at no cost. In addition to detailed breach reports, Insecureweb.com offers its 3D Threat Intelligence Galaxy Map, which allows users to navigate the threat intelligence landscape in a visually intuitive manner, the company said.

5. Leadership Move: Global security specialist Forcepoint has promoted Ryan Windham from chief customer and strategy officer to CEO, succeeding Manny Rivelo, who is retiring as CEO. Rivelo will continue to serve in an advisory capacity through August 1. Prior to joining Forcepoint in 2023, Windham was CEO at AppViewX and also served as CEO at Cedexis.

6. Government Supply Chain Security Partnership Forms: Eclypsium, a specialist in digital supply chain security for enterprise hardware, firmware and software infrastructure, and Everfox (formerly Forcepoint Federal), a company focused on defending critical data and networks, have formed a partnership to support the National Cross Domain Strategy and Management Office’s (NCDSMO) Raise The Bar (RTB) requirements. Recognizing the growing threat posed by adversaries seeking to exploit cross-domain activities, the NSA established the NCDSMO with the goal of enhancing their security. The Raise the Bar (RTB) initiative was introduced in 2018 as NCDSMO’s first set of security requirements and standards aimed at mitigating the risk of CDS systems and bolstering the security and functionality of cross-domain solutions.

7. Cyber Insurance Partnership Launches: SentinelOne, an AI-powered security specialist, and Aon, a leading global professional services firm, have formed a strategic partnership through which Aon will leverage SentinelOne’s Singularity Platform to help gather internal security data from SentinelOne’s clients to more effectively profile and mitigate cyber risk. SentinelOne will team with Aon in both its cyber brokerage process, which is facilitated by its global eSubmission and self-attestation patented platform Cyber Quotient Evaluation (CyQu), and through its Stroz Friedberg global Incident Response service. 

8. Leadership Move: Tufin, a network and cloud security policy automation company, has named Jeff Taylor as chief operating officer. Taylor was formerly senior vice president and chief strategy and growth officer at Pega. Meanwhile, Christian Na, formerly chief legal officer and corporate secretary at Emburse, has been named general counsel.

9. Cyber Shop Emerges from Stealth: Command Zero, an autonomous and user-led cyber investigation platform provider, has emerged from stealth with $21 Million in seed funding, led by Andreessen Horowitz with participation from Insight Partners and more than 60 cyber industry thought leaders and executives. Using encoded expert knowledge, automation and advanced Language Learning Models (LLMs), Command Zero is solving investigaton bottlenecks in security operations, the company said.

10. APT41 Upgrades Malware: The China-linked advanced persistent threat (APT) group, codenamed APT41, is suspected to be using an advanced and upgraded version of a known malware called StealthVector to deliver a previously undocumented backdoor dubbed MoonWalk. The new variant of StealthVector, which is also referred to as DUSTPAN, has been designated DodgeBox by Zscaler ThreatLabz, which discovered the loader strain in April 2024.
