Today’s MSSP Alert Market News:

1. Rubrik, Cisco Form Partnership: Rubrik and Cisco have joined forces to enhance organizations’ cyber resilience and protect mission-critical data against cyberattacks. Rubrik is now a member of Cisco’s SolutionsPlus program, a strategic move where all of Rubrik’s products, including its data security posture management (DSPM) offering, are added to Cisco’s Global Price List. As part SolutionsPlus, Cisco’s direct and channel sales network can now offer Rubrik Security Cloud with Cisco Unified Computing Systems (UCS) and Cisco XDR, the companies said.

2. FifthWall Receives Fresh Funding, Names CEO: FifthWall Solutions, a specialist in cyber insurance innovation, has closed $5 million in Series A funding. This investment will fuel accelerated product development, market expansion and continued innovation in cyber insurance, the company said. In addition, FifthWall has appointed Cole Knuth as CEO and Gene Stevens as chief technology officer. Doug Wright, who has served as CEO since October 2015, will transition to chairman of the board.

3. RapidFort Helps Organizations Achieve Zero CVEs: RapidFort, a software attack surface management (SASM) provider, has launched RapidFort Curated Images, a solution that helps organizations quickly reach near-zero common vulnerabilities and exposures (CVEs) within their software. RapidFort Curated Images offer a secure foundation for software development and deployment, featuring daily rebuilds, FIPS readiness and accelerating FedRAMP compliance and saving enterprise development resources, the company said.

4. KnowBe4 Releases Cyberattack Report: KnowBe4, a security awareness training and simulated phishing platform provider, has released its latest report, "Cyber Attacks On Infrastructure: The New Geopolitical Weapon. "

Key findings from the report include:

  • The number of vulnerable points in U.S. power grids is growing by approximately 60 per day, with the total count rising from 21,000 in 2022 to between 23,000 and 24,000 today.
  • Globally, the average number of weekly cyberattacks against utilities has quadrupled since 2020, with a doubling occurring in 2023 alone.
  • Between January 2023 and January 2024, critical infrastructure worldwide sustained over 420 million attacks, equivalent to 13 attacks per second, marking a 30% increase from 2022.

5. Onapsis Issues Ransomware Report: Onapsis, an application security specialist, has released new research investigating how enterprises are experiencing and managing ransomware attacks, The report, "ERP Security in the Age of AI-Enhanced Ransomware," states that 83% of organizations have experienced at least one ransomware attack in the last year, 46% of respondents experienced four or more and 14% indicated they experienced 10 or more. Of those respondents who experienced at least one ransomware attack in the last year, 61% said it resulted in downtime of at least 24 hours.

6. GetReal Labs Names CEO: GetReal Labs, a specialist on malicious manipulated content and deepfakes, has appointed Matt Moynahan as CEO. Moynahan succeeds Ted Schlein, co-founder and general partner of Ballistic Ventures, who has served as the interim CEO since the company's inception. Moynahan most recently served as the CEO of cybersecurity company OneSpan, and previously served as CEO of Forcepoint and president and CEO of Veracode.

7. CISA Releases Joint Advisory, Debuts Reporting Portal: The Cybersecurity & Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA), in partnership with the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), Multi-State Information Sharing and Analysis Center (MS-ISAC), and Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), has released a joint Cybersecurity Advisory#StopRansomware: RansomHub Ransomware. CISA also announced its cyber incident reporting form moved to the new CISA Services Portal as part of its ongoing effort to improve cyber incident reporting. The Portal is a secure platform with enhanced functionality for cyber incident reporting, including integration with login.gov credentials.

8. AttackIQ Signs CISA Secure by Design Pledge: AttackIQ, a breach and attack simulation (BAS) solutions provider, announced that it has signed onto CISA's Secure by Design pledge. The Secure by Design pledge outlines seven key goals, each with specific criteria for enterprise software products to achieve. This flexible framework allows organizations to tailor their approach while demonstrating a commitment to improving software security.

9. Addigy Launches MDM Controls for Apple Intelligence: Addigy, a solution provider built for connected Apple device management, has brought to market new Apple Intelligence controls. The controls, which are live now in Addigy MDM, give IT admins and MSPs the ability to test enabling and disabling Apple intelligence across their devices before AI is embedded in the public fall OS releases.
