Today’s MSSP Alert Market News:

1. Security Partnership: Stellar Cyber, an Open XDR specialist, is partnering with Assura, a cybersecurity firm that provides risk management and compliance services as well as offensive and defensive cybersecurity, managed and project-based services. Assura's partnership with Stellar Cyber represents its first adoption of a natively AI-driven solution for its managed SIEM and XDR services, the companies said.

2. Threat Intelligence Offer: HYAS Infosec, an adversary infrastructure platform provider offering protection and visibility against ransomware, phishing and other types of cyberattacks, has released a new edition of HYAS Insight. The threat intelligence solution is used worldwide by law enforcement and Fortune 500 enterprise clients who benefit from the solution’s unprecedented visibility into the origins of attacks, the campaign infrastructure being used and the resources likely to be used against them in the future, the company said.

3. Leadership Move: Cybersecurity venture capital firm YL Ventures has appointed Elias Terman as operating partner. Terman is former senior vice president of marketing at cybersecurity unicorn Orca Security, a portfolio company of YL Ventures. In addition to leading marketing at Orca, Elias cultivated his track record of building successful marketing and outreach programs at cybersecurity startups including Uptycs, Integris Software (acquired by OneTrust), Distil Networks (acquired by Imperva) and OneLogin.

4. Cyberattack Reported: Financial Business and Consumer Solutions (FBCS) has been impacted by a massive data breach affecting millions of Americans. FBCS is a debt collection agency that specializes in recovering charged-off consumer and commercial debts, such as car loans, health care bills, utility bills, student loans and credit cards. The data breach leaked extensive consumer data, including full name, Social Security number (SSN), date of birth and driver’s license number or ID card. (Source: Fox News)

5. Indonesia Ransomware Attack: A cyberattacker compromised Indonesia's national data center, disrupting immigration checks at airports, and asked for an $8 million ransom, the country's communications minister said on Monday. The attack disrupted several government services, most notably at airports last week, with long lines forming at immigration desks. Automated passport machines were now functioning, the communications ministry said. (Source: Reuters)

6. Hacker Alert: Multiple threat actors, including cyber espionage groups, are employing an open-source Android remote administration tool called Rafel RAT by masquerading it as Instagram, WhatsApp and various e-commerce and antivirus apps. The malware the ability to wipe SD cards, delete call logs, siphon notifications, and even act as ransomware. (Source: The Hacker News)
