1. USX Cyber XDR Platform Gains AI-Powered Alert Analysis: USX Cyber, a cybersecurity solutions provider, has integrated AI into its GUARDIENT XDR platform. The enhancement to GUARDIENT processes security alerts by assessing historical attack patterns, threat intelligence and known indicators of compromise. This comprehensive analysis assigns a threat likelihood score, highlights relevant historical context and offers actionable recommendations, enabling security teams to make swift, informed decisions, the company said.
2. Cyolo Integrates with IBM’s QRadar: Cyolo, a provider of secure remote access solutions for operational technology (OT) and industrial control systems (ICS), has announced a new integration with IBM Security’s QRadar security information and event management (SIEM) offerings. Together, Cyolo’s PRO Secure Remote Access Platform (SRA) and IBM’s QRadar SIEM will enhance cybersecurity capabilities like threat detection and mitigation in critical OT/ICS environments, the company said.
3. Palo Alto Networks Acquires IBM's QRadar SaaS Assets: Palo Alto Networks announced that it has completed the acquisition of IBM's QRadar Software as a Service (SaaS) assets. "Working with Palo Alto Networks will be a strategic advantage for IBM as our two companies partner on advanced threat protection, response and security operations using Cortex XSIAM and watsonx, backed by IBM Consulting," stated IBM Chairman and CEOArvind Krishna.
4. Proofpoint Boosts Communications Governance, Data Loss Offerings: Proofpoint, a cybersecurity and compliance company, has brought to market its Digital Communications Governance (DCG) offering. DCG helps organizations simplify governance of communication data and provides security insights across all major digital channels for conduct risk. Proofpoint has also launched a partner-friendly, end-to-end information protection framework, providing organizations access to expertise, industry benchmark data and methodology in designing, implementing and maturing data loss prevention (DLP) programs, the company said.
5. Bitdefender Delivers Security Solution to YouTubers: Bitdefender, a global cybersecurity company, has unveiled Bitdefender Security for Creators, a service specifically designed for digital content producers, online creative professionals and social media influencers who are prime targets for account takeovers, fraud and other cybercrimes. Initially, the new offering protects YouTube accounts with additional platform support such as Facebook, TikTok, Instagram and others to follow, the company said.
6. ConnectWise Reimagines Marketplace: ConnectWise, a software company dedicated to the success of MSPs, has launched the revamped ConnectWise Marketplace, making it easier to learn about and access a wide range of solutions developed by certified and open integrators across all phases of the MSP business lifecycle. With the new unified interface, MSPs can now seamlessly navigate the ConnectWise Marketplace via marketplace.connectwise.com, the company said.
7. Prompt Security Launches Microsoft 365 Copilot Solution: Prompt Security, a generative AI security specialist, has launched the industry's "first" security and governance solution for Copilot for Microsoft 365, the company said. Prompt Security provides comprehensive protection for the full suite of AI-powered tools integrated into Microsoft's productivity applications, including Office applications and Windows OS.
8. Perception Point Reports 24% Increase in Cyberattacks Per Employee: Perception Point, a provider of advanced email and workspace security solutions, has released its H1 2024 Cybersecurity Trends & Insights report, revealing a significant increase in the volume and sophistication of cyberattacks targeting businesses globally. The report highlights a 24% increase in malicious attacks per user in the first half of 2024 year over year, underscoring the escalating threat landscape. Business email compromise attacks saw a 42% increase in H1 2024 compared to the same period in 2023. These socially engineered attacks, often targeting high-level business stakeholders, now account for 21% of all email attacks, up from 15% in H1 2023, Perception Point reports.
9. Nightwing Names CTO: Nightwing, an intelligence solutions provider for national security, has appointed Christopher Jones as chief technology officer and chief data officer. He comes to Nightwing from the Central Intelligence Agency, where he most recently served as associate deputy director for Science and Technology. He is a recipient of the CIA Director's Award, the Distinguished Career Intelligence Medal, and several Meritorious Presidential Rank Awards and CIA Exceptional Performance Awards, the company said.
