MSSP Market Update: Blackpoint Cyber Launches New Partner Program for MSPs

Managed detection and response provider Blackpoint Cyber has launched a new partner program and enablement platform today for MSPs. The introduction builds on the company’s efforts over the last year, including educational content from its Blackpoint University and its Campaign-in-a-Box resources.

The program is built along standard channel partner program lines, rewarding partners that do more business with Blackpoint Cyber. Benefits include early access to new products, quarterly roadmap sessions, and post incident remediation response. Top tier partners receive access to “SOC Concierge” services.

Also included are sales benefits such as a dedicated account manager, on demand sales training, and Blackpoint-sourced leads for high performing partners. Marketing benefits include co-produced client testimonials, brand usage support, and eligibility for market development funds.

1. Cloud identity solution - Extreme Networks introduced new features within ExtremeCloud Universal Zero Trust Network Access (ZTNA), an identity-based network access solution. Universal ZTNA unifies cloud Network Access Control and ZTNA in a single SaaS offering, with one zero trust policy engine for both networks and applications to ensure consistent security, unified observability and a seamless experience when remote or on-site.

2. Security data fabric funding - Abstract Security, a pioneer in security data fabric and analytics, announced today that it has closed a Series A funding round, raising $15 million. The round was led by Munich Re Ventures with super pro rata participation from existing investors Crosslink Capital and Rally Ventures.

3. Building safe GenAI tools -  Securiti, a data security, privacy, governance and compliance provider, has released Gencore AI a solution to enable building of safe enterprise-grade generative artificial intelligence (GenAI) systems, copilots and AI agents.

4. Combating fraud -  Jumio a provider of automated, AI-driven identity verification, risk signals and compliance solutions, has launched an enhanced, in-house technology designed to address increasingly sophisticated fraud tactics. This solution expands beyond traditional presentation attacks, such as paper or screen copies, and employs sophisticated AI models to block advanced threats like injection attacks and deepfakes.

5. Expert cyber advisors join Corelight -  Former NSA cybersecurity director Rob Joyce and former NATO cybersecurity chief Ian West have joined Corelight as new advisors to the company.

6. Scamming job seekers - Proofpoint threat researchers have released new insights uncovering a concerning rise in cryptocurrency scams targeting job seekers with fake job offers. The scam exploits psychological mechanisms such as the Sunk Cost Fallacy, Loss Aversion, and the Principle of Reciprocity, making it alarmingly effective, and according to Chainalysis – a cryptocurrency investigation company – these scams have already netted substantial amounts in cryptocurrency.
