MSSP Alert is releasing the MSSP 250 research today. When we conduct the survey to compile our MSSP 250 list, we also are doing research into the state of the MSSP market. (Check out our MSSP 250 FAQ, which we hope answers all your questions about our research and list.)

Our research report will be unveiled at our 2 pm ET webinar (register here), and also available download then, too. We’ve got two special guests – MSSPs that are on this year’s list, too, as our panelists. Raffaele Mautone, founder and CEO of Judy Security and Terry Oehring, CEO of Solis Security will join us today for this special webcast.

Please also check out our new pricing research. Those who participate in this research into MSSP pricing and stacks will get our report which will show you how you fit into the overall market. We’ll keep your information confidential. More information is available here, including how you can participate.

Today’s MSSP Update

1. MSSPs’ revenue trends – On average, MSSP revenue increased by 18% year over year for our total MSSP 250 group in 2024.

2. MSSP 250 size – Very large MSSPs at the top of the 250 list pushed the average revenues for the year significantly higher than the median.

3. Larger MSSPs vs. Smaller MSSPs – We break out larger vs. smaller MSSP segments in our report, and you’ll see some additional differences reflected on that page. One of the big ones is that 34% of larger MSSPs are funded by private equity vs. just 9% of smaller MSSPs.

4. The top service offered by MSSPs - Vulnerability assessment and managed vulnerability services was the service offered by more MSSPs than any other service with 88% providing it on their own and 11% partnering to provide it.

5. MSSP profitability - Ninety-two percent of MSSPs said they expect their businesses to be profitable in 2024. Eight percent said their profitability for the year was still uncertain or that they did not want to disclose their profitability for 2024.
