Nemko Acquires System Sikkerhet Cybersecurity Assessment Services

Nemko Group, a Norwegian company that specializes in safety testing for electrical equipment manufacturing, has acquired cybersecurity assessment services firm System Sikkerhet AS for an undisclosed sum. The System Sikkerhet acquisition supports Nemko's mission to offer product and system conformity assessment solutions, according to a prepared statement.

This is M&A deal Number 157 that MSSP Alert and ChannelE2E have covered so far in 2020. Also, this is M&A deal Number 32 involving the cybersecurity market so far this year. See the complete M&A deal list here.

Nemko is exploring ways to fulfill the growing need for security certification solutions, the company stated. With System Sikkerhet, Nemko is equipped to help organizations keep pace with the growth of digital networks and the Internet of Things (IoT) and secure their systems against data breaches.

System Sikkerhet and Nemko: A Closer Look

System Sikkerhet is an ISO 17025-accredited firm and Norway's oldest purebred information security consultancy businesses. It offers security approval of classified communication systems, security advice on digital infrastructure and Common Criteria evaluations.

Meanwhile, Nemko provides product and systems testing, inspection and certification services worldwide.

Nemko has added System Sikkerhet's cybersecurity assessment capabilities to its portfolio, and MSSPs can do the same. In fact, various cybersecurity assessment tools recently were released that MSSPs can use to help organizations evaluate their security posture.

Cybersecurity Assessment Tools: Noteworthy Moves

FireEye, a cybersecurity software and managed defense service provider, in October launched a Digital Threat Monitoring service. Organizations can use Digital Threat Monitoring to collect and analyze content on the dark and open web and detect dark and open web threats.

In addition, cyber exposure platform provider Tenable in May unveiled Nexxus Essentials, a free version of its vulnerability assessment solution. Organizations can use Nexxus Essentials as a vulnerability scanner for up to 16 IPs.
