NinjaOne, a specialist in remote monitoring and management (RMM), has updated its Patch Management platform to simplify patching for MSPs and IT departments, the company announced.

The Patch Management updates include:

  • A new dashboard that shows the patch status for customers' endpoints
  • Linux patching functionality that allows customers to deploy operating system and third-party patches for common Linux distributions
  • Mac third-party patching that enables customers to deploy patches for common third-party apps on MacOS devices
  • Patch scheduling flexibility, giving customers the ability to schedule patch updates several times a week and set recurring dates and skip months if necessary

Rahul Hirani, NinjaOne's senior vice president of product management, commented on the Patch Management updates:

"With these latest advancements, NinjaOne is delivering on our commitment to help customers easily patch Windows, Mac and Linux devices all from a single, centralized, easy-to-use platform."

How MSPs Can Use NinjaOne's Patch Management

NinjaOne Patch Management lets MSPs and IT departments "automatically patch any device from a centralized, easy-to-use console and automate every step of the process," the company stated.

MSPs and IT departments can utilize Patch Management to identify, evaluate and deploy patches to any device, in any location, NinjaOne noted. They also can patch Windows, Mac and Linux servers, workstations and laptops.

Patch Management helps MSPs and IT departments spend 90% less time patching, according to NinjaOne. In addition, Patch Management replaces an average of 2.5 tools in new customer environments.

NinjaOne Hires Global Channel Chief

The NinjaOne Patch Management updates come after the company in April 2023 appointed Joe Lohmeier as its first global channel chief. Lohmeier is responsible for expanding NinjaOne's partner program and portal, the company said.

Lohmeier has more than 25 years of channel leadership and sales experience, NinjaOne indicated. He most recently served as worldwide vice president of Sales and Cchannels at Vypota, which offers digital collaboration experience management solutions. Lohmeier also has held executive channel positions at VMware, Cisco Systems and Avaya.

MSPs can join NinjaOne's Partner Program to add patch management, endpoint monitoring and management and other RMM services to their portfolios. The program allows MSPs to manage and own administrative functions on behalf of their customers, NinjaOne stated.
