Privileged Access Management Acquisition: Password Boss Buys AutoElevate

Password Boss, a password management solution provider, has acquired privileged access management (PAM) software company AutoElevate for an undisclosed sum.

This is technology M&A deal number 539 that MSSP Alert and sister site ChannelE2E have covered so far in 2021. See all technology M&A deals for 2021 and 2020 listed here.

With the acquisition, Password Boss gains AutoElevate's endpoint privilege and PAM capabilities, Password Boss CEO David Bellini said. Bellini will serve as CEO for both companies and AutoElevate co-founder Todd Jones will manage his company's operations and technology initiatives. Bellini and Jones have a combined 50+ years of MSP industry experience.

Password Boss specializes in end-to-end password management for MSPs, the company stated. It empowers MSPs with customer health reports, dark web scans and other password management capabilities.

Also, Password Boss provides a partner program for MSPs. The company offers silver, gold and platinum partner levels and access to sales and marketing tools and other resources as part of this program.

AutoElevate offers a PAM solution that lets MSPs remove local administrator rights and implement endpoint privilege management, the company noted. That way, MSPs can leverage this solution to secure their customers' servers and workstations.

Both Password Boss and AutoElevate solutions can be used in combination with various RMM, professional services automation (PSA) and remote access tools, the companies stated. They both feature a multi-tenant management portal as well.
