SecureIQLab and Omdia will provide organizations with evaluations of eXtended detection and response (XDR) solutions beginning in June 2023, the companies announced.

Inside the XDR Partnership

With the partnership, SecureIQLab will provide Omdia with data to validate the claims of XDR solutions and identify potential weaknesses in these solutions, the companies stated.

Omdia can incorporate SecureIQLab's data into its analysis of XDR solutions. From here, Omdia can provide organizations "with the best guidance possible" regarding XDR solutions, the companies said.

Commenting on his company's partnership with Omdia and what it means for the cybersecurity industry, David Ellis, SecureIQLab's vice president of Research and Corporate Relations, said:

"The collaboration between Omdia and SecureIQLab to objectively research the effectiveness of XDR solutions will provide the cybersecurity industry with deeper insights than ever before. This partnership is a huge step forward for SecureIQLab in our mission to help enterprise buyers make the most informed decisions possible to keep their business safe and secure."

Also, Omdia Senior Director of Cybersecurity Maxine Holt commented on her company's partnership with SecureIQLab and its potential impact:

"This is the first time that two traditionally separate sides of cybersecurity research are combining their power for the benefit of enterprise security. It's truly a best of both worlds union, and we couldn’t be more excited to see what we can accomplish together."

The SecureIQLab-Omdia XDR testing program is now open to Tier 1 through Tier 3 vendors, and the companies will release the test results in August 2023.

SecureIQLab Offers Advanced Cloud Firewall (ACFW) Testing for Security Vendors

The Omdia partnership comes after SecureIQLab in April 2023 announced ACFW testing that organizations can use "to evaluate the ability of leading cloud security solutions to withstand a multitude of cyberattacks," according to the company. SecureIQLab made this announcement at the RSA Conference.

SecureIQLab is performing testing to validate the claims of ACFW solutions, the company said. The testing began May 1 and runs until July 18.

Along with testing ACFW and XDR solutions, SecureIQLab intends to conduct cloud web application firewall (WAF) version 3.0 and cloud ransomware protection assessments in the near future, the company noted.

SecureIQLab performs cloud security solutions tests to validate the efficacy, efficiency and return on security investment (ROSI) for enterprises and governments, the company indicated. It also offers testing services for MSPs.
