SonicWall Adds Zero-Touch Deployment, Secure SD-WAN for Cloud Platform

Share

SonicWall, the endpoint and network security company, has added Zero-Touch Deployment and Secure software-defined WAN (SD-WAN) capabilities to its Capture Cloud Platform.

Zero-Touch Deployment allows organizations to use the Capture Cloud Platform to configure their firewall hardware at new locations without requiring on-site personnel, according to SonicWall. It also ensures that security administrators can manage their organizations' local and distributed networks via the SonicWall Capture Security Center cloud-based management and analytics platform.

The Capture Cloud Platform's Secure SD-WAN helps organizations reduce the costs and complexity commonly associated with building distributed private networks based on multiprotocol label switching (MPLS) technology, SonicWall stated. It enables organizations to deploy and connect branch and remote sites to share data and improve the performance of applications and services.

SonicWall Extends Virtual Firewall Capabilities

The Capture Cloud Platform now extends next-generation virtual firewall capabilities to VMware Hyper-V, Microsoft Azure and Amazon Web Services (AWS) cloud deployments.

New and existing customers using SonicWall NSa or NSsp next-generation firewalls and who have active Advanced Gateway Security Suite (AGSS) or Comprehensive Gateway Security Suite (CGSS) services can receive a SonicWall NSv firewall for one year at no additional cost, the company stated.

What Is the Capture Cloud Platform?

The Capture Cloud Platform integrates security, management, analytics and real-time threat intelligence across SonicWall's network, email, mobile and cloud security products, the company said. It includes the following components:

  • Capture Security Center: Provides customer-specific visibility, device management, advanced analytics and reporting.
  • Capture Advanced Threat Protection (ATP): Offers a cloud sandbox service that uses multiple analysis techniques to block malware and zero-day threats.
  • Capture Client: Delivers a unified, next-generation endpoint protection solution with "rollback" capabilities.
  • Hosted Email Security: Provides a cloud-based security solution to protect organizations against email-based threats.
  • Capture Labs Threat Network: Automates breach prevention and threat intelligence sharing across SonicWall firewalls, Capture Client, Email Security and various mobility solutions.

The Capture Cloud Platform provides intelligence, management and analytics to supplement SonicWall's cybersecurity hardware, virtual appliances and endpoint clients, the company indicated. As such, the platform helps organizations keep pace with evolving cyber threats and automatically defend their endpoints and networks against cyberattacks.

SonicWall Upgrades Its Capture Security Center

SonicWall has unveiled Capture Security Center Risk Meters that deliver company-specific, real-time threat intelligence and risk scoring.

Capture Security Center Risk Meters provide personalized threat data and risk scores, according to SonicWall. They are continuously updated based on live threat data and help organizations make data-driven security decisions.

SonicWall today offers real-time breach detection and prevention solutions to over 500,000 businesses and works with more than 18,000 channel partners worldwide. It also offers the SecureFirst Partner Program that enables MSSPs to add SonicWall hosted email protection, managed network protection and other security services to their portfolios.
