Secure supply chain software specialist WaveDancer is acquiring Knowmadics, a provider of RMM (remote monitoring and management) software for IoT (internet of Things) devices. The purchase price is $90 million -- though WaveDancer needs to raise roughly $67 million to complete the deal. The M&A deal's valuation in terms of an annual EBITDA multiple was not disclosed.
This is technology M&A deal number 290 that MSSP Alert and sister site ChannelE2E have covered so far in 2022.
WaveDancer of Fairfax, Virginia, focuses on end-to-end security solutions that support data, devices, and transactions in a single unified platform. The company's intellectual property includes enterprise blockchain and encryption algorithm technology, WaveDancer asserts.
WaveDancer: Earlier Acquisition, Company Rebrand
WaveDancer was formerly known as Information Analysis. The rebrand occurred after Information Analysis acquired Gray Matters and associated blockchain security technology in 2021.
Before the rebrand, Information Analysis focused on mainframe modernization, e-business, Oracle solutions, staffing services and general IT.
Although WaveDancer is publicly held ($WAVD), we don't know when the company will announce Q1 results for 2022. We'll be watching for those results in order to get a better read on the company's business performance and secure supply chain software strategy.
