Trend Micro has acquired Anlyz, a security operations center (SOC) technology company, for an undisclosed sum.

This is technology M&A deal number 151 that MSSP Alert and sister site ChannelE2E have covered so far in 2023.

Trend Micro, founded in 1988, is based in Tokyo, Japan. The company has 7,718 employees listed on LinkedIn. Trend Micro's areas of expertise include cloud, data and mobile security.

Anlyz, founded in 2017, is based in Bengaluru, India. The company has 31 employees listed on LinkedIn. Anlyz's areas of expertise include cybersecurity, incident response and security analytics.

What the Acquisition Means for Trend Micro and MSSP Partners

The acquisition provides Trend Micro with Anlyz's intellectual property, industry expertise and more than 40 technical employees committed to bolstering Trend Micro's security platform strategy, the companies said. It expands Trend Micro's engineering team to more than 3,000 employees and allows the company to establish a new research and development center in Bangalore, India.

Trend Micro will leverage Anlyz's security orchestration, automation and response (SOAR) solution and product connectors to "broaden its platform and enable additional integration and automation options across (its) customers' IT ecosystems," the company said. It also enables Trend Micro to provide its MSSP partners with a technology platform that they can use to manage the SOC function for their customers.

Meanwhile, Trend Micro and Anlyz share more than 30 joint customers and have been technology alliance partners since 2021. As such, the companies are "positioned to move forward quickly to capitalize on the opportunities ahead," the businesses said.

Trend Micro Partners with LogRhythm

The Anlyz acquisition comes after Trend Micro in February 2023 announced a partnership with LogRhythm, a security information and event management (SIEM) platform provider.

Security teams now can use LogRhythm's SIEM platform to collect and analyze logs from the Trend Micro Vision One solution, the companies said. From here, LogRhythm SIEM ingests these logs and the SmartResponse for Trend Micro feature automatically blocks list hashes, IP addresses, domain URLs or mailboxes when it detects suspicious activity.

Trend Micro provides a security platform used to protect thousands of organizations and millions of individuals across their clouds, networks, devices and endpoints. The company offers a channel partner program that allows MSSPs, MSPs and other technology providers to use its platform to deliver eXtended detection and response (XDR) and other security services.
