The United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) has awarded an expanded database security contract to the government solutions division of Trustwave, a Top 250 MSSP. The contract's terms were not disclosed.
Building Zero Trust at USPTO
Trustwave will provide its Rights Management and Activity Monitoring DbProtect database security services to USPTO, the MSSP said. USPTO can use these services to assess threats to databases and gain visibility into vulnerabilities that could lead to data breaches. It also can manage user access to its databases and get alerts on suspicious database activities, intrusions and policy violations.
In addition, Trustwave is helping USPTO further build out its zero trust architecture, the MSSP noted. To date, USPTO has built and operationalized its zero trust architecture across the five pillars of the federal zero trust framework: users, apps, data, networks and devices. Meanwhile, Trustwave supports USPTO as it tries to deliver on two of these pillars: users and data.
Trustwave Partners with Trellix, Builds Portfolio
The USPTO contract announcement comes after Trustwave in March 2023 incorporated its managed detection and response (MDR) solution into the Trellix eXtended detection and response (XDR) platform. Organizations can use this integration to hunt for cyber threats in real-time and improve their mean time to respond (MTTR), the companies stated.
Previously, Trustwave in January 2023 relaunched its Advanced Continual Threat Hunting Platform. Trustwave also released its Enterprise Pen Testing (EPT) Service and a new version of its Co-Managed SOC (security operations center) solution in October 2022.
Trustwave provides managed security, MDR, database security, email security and consulting and professional services globally. It offers the PartnerOne program to MSSPs and MSPs and continues to explore technology partnerships.
