Appgate, a zero trust security and secure consumer access company, has named Leo Taddeo as its CEO and president. Taddeo is expected to lead Appgate into its "next chapter of success," Executive Chairman Manny Medina said.
Taddeo most recently served as Appgate's CISO and head of the company's federal and threat advisory divisions. Previously, Taddeo was CISO and president of the federal division of Cyxtera, a data center colocation, enterprise bare metal and interconnectivity services company. He also has served as a special agent in charge of the security operations and cyber division of the FBI's New York office.
Appgate Awarded U.S. Department of Defense Contract, Unveils Zero Trust Platform
The CEO hire comes after Appgate in November 2022 was awarded an Enterprise Software Initiative (ESI) Cybersecurity Blanket Purchase Agreement by the U.S. Department of Defense. The agreement accelerates federal agency procurement of the Appgate SDP zero trust network access (ZTNA) solution, the company said.
Furthermore, Appgate in November 2022 introduced a zero trust platform and risk engine that enterprises can use to develop and maintain a security ecosystem. The platform and risk engine help enterprises manage network traffic and reduce infrastructure management overhead, Appgate indicated. They also provide security context that enterprises can use to enhance their secure access policies.
A Closer Look at Appgate
Appgate specializes in "people-defined security," according to the company. Along with zero trust security and secure consumer access offerings, Appgate provides adversary simulation, penetration testing and other threat advisory services.
Also, Appgate provides a partner program for MSSPs, MSPs and systems integrators. The program enables channel partners to integrate its zero trust platform into their offerings.
