Zscaler Adds Data Loss Prevention, Threat Intelligence to Cloud Platform

Credit: Zscaler

Zscaler has integrated data loss prevention (DLP) capabilities and threat intelligence into its Posture Control cloud native application protection platform (CNAPP), according to a prepared statement.

Zeroing in on Cloud Risks

Posture Control users can utilize data discovery and security signals to view cloud risks and their potential impact, Zscaler noted. They can generate insights into how security incidents can happen and compromise their data. From here, security and DevOps teams can use these insights to find the best ways to address security issues.

Furthermore, Posture Control automatically correlates security misconfigurations or activities, the company stated. In doing so, Posture Control helps users identify attack paths and detect ongoing attacks.

The Posture Control enhancements are expected to be available by June 2023.

Zscaler Bolsters Executive Leadership Team, SaaS Application Security Capabilities

Along with upgrading Posture Control, Zscaler in March 2023 hired former Palo Alto Networks executive Karl Soderlund as its senior vice president of worldwide partners and alliances. Soderlund is responsible for managing Zscaler's Summit Partner Program, developing and executing the company's go-to-market strategy and leading its channel team, the business stated.

Previously, Zscaler in February 2023 acquired Canonic Security, a SaaS application security platform provider. Zscaler is integrating Canonic's supply chain security capabilities into its data protection services.

Zscaler customers also can use Canonic's cloud access security broker (CASB) and SaaS security posture management (SSPM) offerings to protect their data, Zscaler indicated. They also can utilize Canonic's security capabilities to identify misconfigurations and compliance violations across Microsoft 365, Google Workspace and other SaaS platforms.

Zscaler offers the Zero Trust Exchange platform, which thousands of organizations use to protect against cyberattacks and data loss. The company has established partnerships with CrowdStrike, Okta and other cybersecurity companies and continues to explore partnership opportunities.
