Welcome to MSSP Alert’s inaugural MSSP Benchmark Pricing Report. This report is designed to provide the MSSP community with valuable insights into the market landscape, helping you better understand how your peers price services and where your offerings fit within the broader pricing ecosystem.
This report focuses on tiered, per-endpoint pricing models—a common approach among MSSPs for delivering cybersecurity services—as well as add-on services. While not universal, this pricing method is widely adopted and serves as the foundation for our analysis in this first edition. Within the report, you will find key data on average pricing, pricing ranges, and insights into market trends.
The MSSP landscape is diverse and complex. According to Canalys, there are approximately 10,000 MSSPs globally, making them one of the smallest groups of channel partners. Yet their cybersecurity expertise is valuable and essential for protecting organizations large and small. MSSPs come in various forms:
- Pure-play providers exclusively focused on managed security services.
- Large systems integrators with dedicated MSSP business units.
- Firms prioritizing consulting or vCISO services while also offering managed cybersecurity solutions.
- MSPs that leverage MSSP or vendor partnerships to deliver cybersecurity services, either white-labeled or transparently.
- Cybersecurity insurance companies that have added managed security services as a new revenue stream.
This is not an exhaustive list but highlights the primary structures and strategies shaping the MSSP market.
Unlike the well-established resources available to MSPs through organizations such as Service Leadership, TruMethods, ASCII Group, and Taylor Business Group, MSSPs have historically lacked dedicated guidance and benchmarking data for pricing their services. MSSP Alert recognized this gap, conducted this survey, and developed this report as a foundational resource for our community. We hope you find the insights within both informative and actionable as you evaluate and refine your own pricing strategies.
