Accenture Security, which includes a Top 100 MSSP business unit for 2017, has appointed Anup Ghosh as its managing director. Ghosh will lead Accenture Security's strategic technology investments and help the company grow its managed security services business, according to a prepared statement.
Ghosh founded Invincea, a machine learning cybersecurity company that was acquired by Sophos in February 2017. The Invincea portfolio included cybersecurity products and services built on deep learning neural-network algorithms to help organizations detect and prevent cyberattacks.
Before launching Invincea, Ghosh served as a program manager at the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA), where he created and managed various government cybersecurity programs. He also has held roles as chief scientist at the Center for Secure Information Systems at George Mason University and VP of Research at Cigital, a software security company that was purchased by Synopsys in November 2016.
What Does the Future Hold for Accenture Security's Managed Security Services Business?
Ghosh possesses cybersecurity, threat intelligence and technical expertise that could help Accenture Security further accelerate its managed security services business growth, Senior Managing Director Kelly Bissell indicated.
In addition, Accenture Security's annual revenues are nearing $2 billion, CEO Pierre Nanterme said during his company's earnings call for the second quarter of fiscal year 2018. Accenture Security also continues to "significantly outpace" the market, Nanterme stated, and drive double-digit growth across its digital, cloud and security related services.
