1. Industry Recognition: HUMAN Security, a specialist in disrupting bot attacks and digital fraud, has secured the top position in the most recent G2 Grid for Bot Detection and Mitigation. This recognition comes on the heels of their recent inclusion in the TIME100 Most Influential Companies for 2023.

2. Identiverse 2023 Attracts Record Attendance: In its 14th year, Identiverse, the digital identity security community’s premiere event, delivered record attendance over four days of programming. “We moved Identiverse to Las Vegas this year, which allowed us to expand our programming,” says John DelMauro, executive vice president of Learning at CyberRisk Alliance, the even'ts sponsor. “And as a result of that expansion, the attendee energy throughout the event made this year’s event particularly memorable.” This year’s conference program featured more than 200 industry-leading experts and innovators, delivering valuable content through insightful keynotes and interactive breakout sessions, and a broad range of established and emerging solution providers showcasing the latest innovative solutions.

3. Company expansion: Red Sift has unveiled its new R&D center in Barcelona, Spain. As part of Red Sift’s commitment to global growth, the launch of Engineering Center Barcelona "marks another milestone for the company’s expansion."

4. Funding Boost: SpecterOps, a provider of adversary-focused cybersecurity solutions, has extended its Series A funding to include an $8.5 million investment from Ballistic Ventures. The funding will further accelerate the adoption of BloodHound Enterprise (BHE), a platform for comprehensively removing identity attack paths in Microsoft’s Active Directory (AD) and Azure AD.

5. Cybersecurity Partnership: Cyware, a provider of threat intelligence management, security collaboration and cyber fusion solutions, announced that ZeroFox, an enterprise software-as-a-service provider in external cybersecurity, has been added to the Cyware Partner Advisory Marketplace, making select ZeroFox threat advisories available to Cyware customers.

6. Industry Recognition: Iris Powered by Generali, provider of a proprietary identity and cyber protection platform, is the recipient of four Globee awards, including the Gold Globee for Company of the Year in the Security Software category. Iris received the Company of the Year award for its continued commitment to industry-leading digital security standards and for its world-class staff of cybersecurity professionals, the company said.

7. Product Launch: Appdome, a mobile app defense specialist, announced that it has integrated its Cyber Defense Automation Platform with a cloud-based service from Microsoft Azure DevOps, which provides continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD) capabilities, allowing teams to automate the build, test and deployment of their applications.

8. College Research and Education Initiative: The City College of New York is a participant in a $12 million Google initiative to stimulate the cybersecurity ecosystem and establish New York City as the global leader in cybersecurity. CUNY, Columbia University, Cornell, and New York University are the other institutions involved in the Google Cyber NYC Institutional Research Program. Three faculty from The City College’s Grove School of Engineering — Rosario Gennaro, Nelly Fazio and Samah Saeed — are among the beneficiaries of the $12 million grant that will go towards cutting-edge research. In addition to their research they will help expand educational opportunities for students seeking advanced degrees in cybersecurity.

9. Hackers Swipe $20 Million: Malicious actors have stolen more than US$20 million from financial technology company, Revolut, by exploiting a software within its US payment system. The cybersecurity incident was allegedly ongoing for several months in 2022, before the vulnerability was closed. Revolut has not yet publicly addressed the theft, however it was reported on by The Financial Times (FT). (Source: Cyber Security Hub)
