1. Leadership Move: Cyemptive Technologies has named industry veteran and former Hitachi senior executive Ray McCay as chief revenue officer. The announcement is the first in a series Cyemptive plans in the upcoming weeks as it scales up the company, and is part of a strategic initiative it began in December 2022 to expand the company and position it for the next level of growth.

2. Security Partnership: Arqit Quantum Inc., a specialist in quantum-safe encryption, and DETASAD, a provider of telecommunications and ICT services in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, have announced a strategic partnership around creating security solutions and services. The partnership will harness the power of Arqit's QuantumCloud Symmetric Key Agreement Platform and DETASAD's data sovereign cloud, cybersecurity and smart infrastructure solutions and services, to provide security solutions for DETASAD clients' infrastructure, communications, data, devices, sensors and any more.

3. Leadership Move: Abacus Group, an MSSP to alternative investment firms, has appointed Jesse Sanders as chief financial officer to help fuel the company's continued rapid expansion. Sanders will oversee the company's mergers and acquisitions strategy and overall financial growth, including scaling the internal finance function.

4. Cybersecurity Education: V School, a technology education provider, has launched its Cybersecurity Program, a fusion of industry-aligned, mastery-based education that is crafted to respond to real-time market demands. V School's Cybersecurity Program is available through flexible online learning models, including part-time and full-time options.

5. Malware Alert: Kaspersky announced that it has discovered a new sophisticated multi-stage attack campaign targeting cryptowallets in Europe, the U.S. and Latin America. The attack involves the DoubleFinger loader, a complex crimeware that deploys the GreetingGhoul cryptocurrency stealer and the Remcos Remote Access Trojan (RAT). Kaspersky’s analysis highlights the advanced techniques and high level of skill employed by the cybercriminals behind the campaign.

6. Product Launch: TuxCare, a enterprise-grade cybersecurity specialist, has unveiled its new SecureChain for Java service. TuxCare’s SecureChain for Java answers the need to centrally manage a repository of pre-approved and continuously secured open source components, the company said.

7. Ransomware Attack: Media watchdog Ofcom has confirmed that it is a victim of a cyberattack by hackers linked to a notorious Russian ransomware group. Confidential data about some companies regulated by Ofcom and personal information from 412 employees was downloaded during the mass hack. A number of organizations, including British Airways, the BBC and Boots, have been affected by the software breach. (Source: BBC)

8. Cyber Chief Chat Slated: U.S. Army Gen. Paul M. Nakasone, Commander, United States Cyber Command, will participate in the opening fireside chat to kick off the 14th Annual Billington CyberSecurity Summit, September 5-8 in Washington, D.C. Drawing on more than five years leading CYBERCOM and the National Security Agency, Gen. Nakasone will provide his perspectives on where the cyber threat is now and in the future, and how the U.S. collaborates to reduce cyber risks.

9. Security Training: Security Innovation has released an intermediate level cyber range as part of its CMD+CTRL software security training series. Containing 45 security challenges and 14 vulnerability types based on common security risks, the training teaches participants how to better protect against the latest cybersecurity threats in a simulated system by having them act like attackers.
