3. California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA): Almost half of all survey respondents have never heard of the CCPA, which goes into effect on January 1, 2020, according to an ESET survey.
4. Ransomware Attack - Oklahoma Schools: Broken Arrow Public Schools said they are recovering faster than expected after their network and servers were hit by ransomware, according to a local news affiliate.
5. U.S. Utility Cyberattacks: LookBack malware has been targeting U.S. utilities with phishing attacks that impersonate engineering licensing boards, Proofpoint warns.
6. North Carolina Cyber Scam: Cabarrus County in North Carolina suffered a social engineering scam that diverted a $2.5 million vendor payment made by the County. Of that total, $1.7 million remains missing, the county concedes.
