Motorola Solutions, which operates a Top 250 MSSP business unit, has announced the Public Safety Threat Alliance (PSTA), a cyber threat information sharing and analysis organization (ISAO) for public safety recognized by the Cybersecurity & Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA).
PTSA serves as a cyber threat intelligence sharing, collaboration and information hub for the global public safety community, Motorola Solutions indicated. It strives to collect and analyze cyber threat information to protect public safety organizations and the communities they serve.
How Does PTSA Work?
PTSA will use information related to cybersecurity risks from across Motorola Solutions' Cybersecurity Services in conjunction with information from CISA, other ISAOs and alliance members and partners, according to the company. It will generate intelligence to help alliance members protect against evolving cyber threats and optimize their security posture.
Membership in PTSA is open to all public safety agencies. By joining the alliance, these agencies can work together to understand cyber threats and help themselves and their constituents guard against them, Motorola Solutions noted.
The PTSA launch comes after Motorola Solutions in March 2022 acquired Ava Security Ltd., a London-based provider of cloud-native video security and analytics capabilities. Previously, Motorola in 2021 acquired Openpath Security for nearly $300 million and purchased Delta Risk (a Top 250 MSSP) and LunarLine in 2020 for $72 million.
Motorola delivers land mobile radio communications, video security and access control and command center software. It also provides cybersecurity services aligned to the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) Cybersecurity Framework to help organizations detect, prevent and respond to cyberattacks.
