Oracle unveiled a cloud-native intelligent security and management suite at its OpenWorld conference in San Francisco this week. The suite Oracle Identity Security Operations Center (SOC) services portfolio and Oracle Management Cloud IT security and management solution, the company.
With the intelligent security and management suite, organizations are better equipped than ever before to forecast, detect and address cybersecurity threats, Oracle stated. In addition, the suite helps organizations remediate application and infrastructure performance issues.
The intelligent security and management suite also leverages artificial intelligence (AI) to analyze security and operational data and automate remediation, Oracle noted. It enables organizations to use machine learning to adapt their security and operational posture as the cyber risk landscape evolves, Oracle said, and explore ways to accelerate threat detection and response.
Larry Ellison Showcases Cybersecurity Machine Learning Capabilities
Oracle Chief Technology Officer (CTO) Larry Ellison this week demonstrated new cybersecurity machine learning capabilities for Management Cloud IT. Now, Management Cloud IT provides "purpose-built machine learning that can be used by security and operations professionals," Ellison said in a prepared statement.
The cybersecurity machine learning capabilities ensure Management Cloud IT delivers a complete data architecture that spans the following areas:
- Associations.
- Telemetry.
- Threats.
- Topology.
The capabilities also provide real-time IT security and operational insights, Oracle indicated, and integrated and automated remediation that helps eliminate human error.
Oracle Partners Embrace Cloud, Security Services
Also at OpenWorld, Oracle partners described momentum with various cloud and security services.
Oracle PartnerNetwork (OPN), the company's channel and alliance program, has roughly 25,000 members. Among the members, more than 2,600 unique partners have joined the Oracle PartnerNetwork Cloud Program. Those partners, in turn, have increased their cloud resell revenue 105 percent year over year, Oracle claims.
On the security front, Spinnaker Support launched managed security services for Oracle and SAP customers. The managed services leverage intelligence from Alert Logic, a security-as-a-service (SECaaS) specialist.
Although Oracle's cloud and managed services partner strategy is gaining momentum, many of the company's business units remain in transition. For instance, the company recently cut staff from its SPARC and Solaris teams, though actual headcount figures were not disclosed. Oracle's overall revenues rose 7 percent to $9.2 billion during the company's Q1 of fiscal year 2018.
