Sumo Logic's cloud-based SIEM is gaining momentum with global systems integrators (GSIs), MSPs and managed security services providers (MSSPs), CEO Ramin Sayar asserted during the company's quarterly earnings call with Wall Street analysts on December 7.

The key trend: Historically speaking, GSIs and service providers tried to build and integrate a bunch of disparate tools into a service architecture, Sayar said. But that's starting to change -- especially as MSSPs tap into the power of cloud-native services, he believes.

"What's happening more and more is if you look at the MSSPs, their expertise is not sticking together or integrating spare tools, Sayar said. "It's leveraging cloud-native architectures and tools and services from the likes Sumo and providing their value-add on top of that."

As a result, Sumo Logic is well-positioned to help partners that are seeking new ways and new technologies to help further their vertical, digital and cloud expertise -- all with modernized security.

The evidence: This quarter, Sumo Logic signed a "six-figure" expansion with an MSP that embeds Sumo Logic into their stack in order to position and sell a comprehensive security service to enterprise-class grade customers, Sayar said.

On paper, each Sumo Logic MSP is a single customer -- even though the MSPs are "delivering Sumo service to thousands of their users," Sayar added.

Sumo Logic’s revenue overall revenue was $51.9 million in the company’s Q3 of fiscal 2021, up 28 percent from the corresponding quarterly last year, Sumo Logic said.
