Barracuda Networks has brought to market SecureEdge, a secure access service edge (SASE) solution designed to help MSPs and businesses "make hybrid and remote work easier to secure," according to the company.
Tim Jefferson, Barracuda's SVP for engineering for data, network and application security, commented on SecureEdge:
"With SecureEdge, Barracuda offers a cloud-native SASE platform that enables customers to control access to data from any device, anytime, anywhere and allows security inspection and policy enforcement in the cloud, at the branch or on the device."
A Closer Look at How MSPs and Businesses Can Use Barracuda SecureEdge
SecureEdge combines Barracuda's Secure SD-WAN, firewall-as-a-service, zero trust network access (ZTNA) and secure web gateway (SWG) capabilities, the company said. MSPs and businesses can use SecureEdge to manage and connect their devices, applications and cloud and hybrid environments.
In doing so, SecureEdge helps these organizations secure their end-users, sites and Internet of Things (IoT) devices, strengthen their security posture and reduce their operating costs.
Key features of SecureEdge include:
- Security policy enforcement for in-office and remote users across cloud, on-premises and hybrid environments
- Protection against web-based threats
- Secure remote access for any user to any application and workload
- Auto-secure SD-WAN across all available uplinks
- Forward Error Correction algorithms that mitigate packet loss and optimize network traffic
SecureEdge is now available to Barracuda partners and customers.
Barracuda Expands Channel Team
The SecureEdge announcement comes after Barracuda in April 2023 hired Maria Martinez as its vice president of Channels for the Americas and promoted Karen Ward to vice president of MSP sales in the Americas. Martinez brings more than 20 years of channel experience to Barracuda. Meanwhile, Ward has been with Barracuda's MSP business unit for over six years.
In addition, Barracuda in 2023 named Andy Lau as its director of Partner Ecosystems and Alliance for the Asia Pacific and Japan, Makoto Suzuki as its regional sales director for Japan and Paul Crighton as its regional sales director for Australia, New Zealand and the Pacific Islands. These leaders bring more than 50 years of cybersecurity, technology and channel experience to their roles, according to Barracuda.
Barracuda previously upgraded its eXtended detection and response (XDR) platform for its MSP partners in September 2022. The company continues to offer a channel partner program and build relationships with MSSPs, MSPs and other technology providers.
