Palo Alto Networks has upgraded its Prisma Access security access service edge (SASE) platform to help organizations protect their remote workers against cyberattacks, according to a prepared statement.
The Prisma Access 2.0 release offers a variety of performance, security and management enhancements, including:
- Autonomous Digital Experience Management: Provides a self-healing infrastructure that automatically remediates network problems to improve the digital experience for remote workers
- CloudBlades API-Based Platform Support: Can be used in conjunction with qualified third-party security and infrastructure services
- Cloud Secure Web Gateway (SWG) Capability: Offers an explicit proxy to the Prisma Access Cloud SWG to help organizations migrate from legacy proxy-based solutions to a cloud-based security platform without the need for network architecture changes
- Machine Learning-Based Protection: Uses inline machine learning to prevent unknown, zero-day attacks in real time and analyzes telemetry data to automatically provide security policy recommendations
Also, Prisma Access 2.0 provides 10 times more throughput than other solutions for faster remote access connections and 4.3 million security updates per day, Palo Alto Networks said. In doing so, it helps organizations simultaneously protect their remote workers and optimize the user experience.
Prisma Access 2.0 will be generally available next month.
Palo Alto Networks Acquires Bridgecrew, CloudGenix
The Prisma Access 2.0 announcement comes after Palo Alto Networks this week acquired Bridgecrew for $156 million in cash. Palo Alto Networks will integrate Bridgecrew's cloud security posture management (CSPM) and DevOps-related security capabilities into its Prisma Cloud platform, the companies stated.
In addition, Palo Alto Networks last year acquired CloudGenix for $420 million in cash and integrated its cloud-based SD-WAN solutions into Prisma Access. With CloudGenix's SD-WAN solutions, Prisma Access offers intelligent onboarding of remote branches and retail stores, Palo Alto Networks said.
Palo Alto Networks offers cybersecurity solutions to help organizations secure their clouds, networks and mobile devices. The company also provides a partner program that lets MSSPs integrate its cybersecurity solutions into their portfolios.
