The Comprehensive Applied Security Solutions (Compass) cyber risk and technical services team has joined Navigant, a Chicago-based advisory, consulting and outsourcing services firm, according to a prepared statement. Navigant did not acquire Compass; conversely, the company hired all Compass cyber risk and technical services team members, a Navigant spokesperson told MSSP Alert.
Navigant now delivers a full-service cyber risk and information security practice designed to help organizations strengthen their cybersecurity infrastructure. Also, Navigant plans to provide its customers with access to the Compass team's expertise, methodologies and tools, the company said.
A Closer Look at Navigant's Cyber Risk and Information Security Practice
Navigant's cyber risk and information security practice works closely with legal counsels, chief information officers (CIOs) and risk officers across all industries, according to the company. It is led by Managing Director Robert Anderson, a cybersecurity expert with nearly 30 years of experience in law enforcement, and helps organizations assess cyber risk and readiness, test and strengthen cybersecurity infrastructure and respond to cyber threats.
The Navigant cyber risk and information security practice offers the following solutions:
- Cybersecurity Advisory: Provides Cyber Intelligence 360 (CI360), a framework that transforms raw cybersecurity data into actionable intelligence.
- Incident Response: Helps organizations develop incident response plans, manage cybersecurity incidents and limit the impact of data breaches.
- Readiness Testing: Offers event readiness testing for host, data center, cloud, critical infrastructure and networks, as well as security assessments that replicate hacker tactics, penetration tests and other cybersecurity evaluations.
- Risk Assessment: Identifies cybersecurity weaknesses or vulnerabilities and helps organizations develop and implement remediation strategies.
With the Compass team addition, Navigant's cyber risk and information security practice can build on its expertise in cybersecurity risk management, the company indicated. The practice is better equipped than ever before to help organizations identify and assess security gaps, Navigant noted, and monitor and remediate cyber threats.
