Illumio, a zero trust segmentation (ZTS) company, has announced that its Government Cloud solution has received the Federal Risk and Authorization Management Program (FedRAMP) In Process designation at the Moderate Impact Level.
The In Process designation is under the sponsorship of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services Office of Inspector General (HHS OIG).
The In Process designation highlights Illumio's commitment to serving federal agencies, according to the company. Federal agencies can use Illumio Government Cloud to identify cyber risks across their clouds, data centers and endpoints. They also can utilize Government Cloud to set up ZTS policies, protect their applications and workloads against cyberattacks and isolate compromised systems as needed.
A Closer Look at Illumio Government Cloud
Illumio Government Cloud provides federal agencies with real-time visibility into cyber threats, the company indicated.
Key features of Government Cloud include:
- Segmentation to help federal agencies avoid the cyber risks, costs and complexities that come from re-architecting their networks and deploying firewalls
- Automatic enforcement of zero trust security policies
- API integrations with security information and event management (SIEM) and security orchestration, automation and response (SOAR) tools
Government Cloud also provides federal agencies with workload and endpoint security capabilities, the company pointed out. As such, Government Cloud enables these agencies to stop data breaches from spreading across their workloads and endpoints.
Illumio Secures DoD Enterprise Software Initiative Purchase Agreement
The Illumio Government Cloud FedRAMP In Process designation announcement comes after Illumio reported a U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) Enterprise Software Initiative (ESI) Purchase Agreement in October 2022. This agreement streamlines the process for federal agencies to procure and deploy the Illumio ZTS Platform, the company said.
In addition to federal agencies, Illumio offers ZTS solutions to organizations in financial services, healthcare and other sectors. Illumio also offers a partner program for MSSPs, MSPs and other technology providers.
