Trellix, a startup extended detection and response (XDR) specialist, has fleshed out its partner program to include a number of new features along with 10 new technology partners and technology integrations with its flagship platform.

Key elements of the updated program, which will launch early next year, include:

  • Partner Enablement to deliver a training curriculum that supports partners from first-sale to first-install of the Trellix XDR platform
  • Demand Creation using differentiated sales plays to accelerate customer engagement, increase deal registration, and build sales pipeline
  • Partner Support to provide a premium post-sale experience including 24/7 support and resources, enabling trusted advisor relationships with Trellix XDR customers
  • Professional Services featuring playbooks enabling partners to build managed services and incident response offerings, leveraging Trellix intellectual property, and apply threat intelligence from Trellix Advanced Research Center

Trellix XDR: 800 Partners Strong

New members of Trellix’s Security Innovation Alliance include Tenable, Lineaje, Arista Networks, Keysight Ixia, Elevate Security, Sumo Logic, SecureX.ai, Okta, GreyNoise, and CPacketNetworks. The new additions bring the ecosystem to some 800 partners integrated with Trellix XDR.

“Our unified partner program, Xtend, continues to reinforce our priority as a channel-first business,” said Britt Norwood, Trellix global channels & commercial senior vice president. “We co-developed the Xtend program with our partners to create the right business model for deploying Trellix XDR."

The merger of McAfee Enterprise and FireEye, backed by private equity firm Symphony Technology Group, was rebranded as Trellix earlier this year. The company dove into the XDR security solutions market with a channel-first market strategy.

It’s clear the XDR segment is growing, with many security providers, including endpoint, network and cloud, adding capabilities to their portfolios. But the competitive landscape has intensified as well. A recent ESG survey indicated that nearly 90% of organizations were working on or planning to work on XDR technology. Still, it’s safe to say that XDR remains somewhat a work in progress.

Four New XDR Components

Meanwhile, Trellix said it has expanded its XDR program to include four new components:

  • Upgraded Engine. An upgraded XDR engine, set for Q4 2022, will provide security operations teams with enhanced playbooks for guided investigations, upgraded threat intelligence through the integration of McAfee and FireEye assets. Trellix will also launch Trellix Event Fabric that allows security analysts to access and correlate data from anywhere.
  • Trellix XConsole. XConsole simplifies the user experience across Trellix XDR, providing a single interface for security operations teams. Available early in 2023, XConsole becomes the control center for Trellix XDR.
  • Trellix Endpoint. Arriving early 2023, Trellix Endpoint unifies the best of McAfee and FireEye technologies across endpoint protection, endpoint detection and response, and forensics to deliver layered endpoint defense.
  • Trellix Network Detection & Response (NDR). Trellix Network Investigator, now available to all customers, provides a holistic solution to detect, investigate and address threats across the kill chain. Available now for all Trellix Intrusion Prevention System customers, and deployable with SaaS and private cloud options, customers receive zero-day protection and malware analysis.
