AlienVault, a threat intelligence solutions provider, added over 200 MSSP partners last year. The company now has more than 500 MSSP partners that leverage Unified Security Management (USM) threat detection and incident response platform, according to a momentum statement from the company issued this week.
AlienVault ended 2017 with more than 50 percent year-over-year revenue growth. The company also recorded 130 percent quarter-over-quarter revenue growth of USM Anywhere, which provides threat detection and incident response for organizations of all sizes.
In addition, AlienVault's annual recurring revenue grew over 60 percent per year in the past two years, and the company currently has a global install base of over 7,000 businesses. Actual revenue and profit figures (dollars and cents), however, remain undisclosed.
What Is USM for MSSPs?
USM enables MSSPs to simplify and centralize threat detection, incident response and compliance management across their customers' cloud and on-premises environments, according to AlienVault. The platform helps MSSPs simultaneously expand their managed security services offerings, meet customers' security goals and minimize risk.
Key features of USM for MSSPs include:
- Single Platform: MSSPs can deploy a single platform that combines asset discovery, vulnerability assessment, intrusion detection, incident response, security information and event management (SIEM) and log management capabilities.
- Centralized Threat Monitoring and Alerting: USM enables MSSPs to streamline threat monitoring and alerting across all customer environments.
- Automated Threat Intelligence Updates: MSSPs can receive continuous, automatic threat intelligence updates from AlienVault Labs backed by the researcher's Open Threat Exchange (OTX) threat intelligence community.
- Compliance Reporting: USM offers pre-built compliance reports for PCI DSS, HIPAA and other regulations.
USM also leverages AlienApps, modular software components that are integrated into USM Anywhere.
AlienApps enable MSSPs to orchestrate and automate threat detection and response across an ecosystem of third-party security tools and IT applications, including offerings from Palo Alto Networks and Carbon Black. Plus, MSSPs can add new security capabilities as new AlienApps are introduced.
AlienVault Integrates USM Anywhere into ConnectWise Manage
AlienVault in November integrated USM Anywhere with the ConnectWise Manage business management software. The integration was announced at last year's IT Nation 2017 conference in Orlando.
Furthermore, AlienVault in November added USM Anywhere to the Amazon Web Services (AWS) Marketplace. This ensures AWS customers now can leverage USM Anywhere to protect on-premises physical and virtual infrastructure, business-critical cloud applications and assorted cloud environments.
