Further to its mission of delivering “nation-state-grade” cybersecurity to its customers, Blackpoint Cyber is partnering with the Pax8 cloud commerce marketplace.
Blackpoint says it will now be able to equip more managed service providers (MSPs) with “advanced threat detection capabilities and industry-leading response times.”
Blackpoint is a cybersecurity company specializing in protecting MSPs and small and medium-sized businesses (SMBs) with cybersecurity technologies and services "spanning beyond the endpoint, into the cloud, and even through SSO identity.”
Explaining the merits of his company's alliance with Pax8, Blackpoint Cyber CEO and founder Jon Murchison said:
"Partnering with Pax8 strengthens our position as the premium MSP cybersecurity brand offering true MDR delivered by human SOC experts. Pax8 shares our commitment to understanding the unique needs of MSPs and prioritizing their success. Partnering with Pax8 means more MSPs will now have easy access to the Blackpoint ecosystem, enabling them to focus on scaling their businesses, with Blackpoint handling the complexities of protecting their customers."
Blackpoint Advances MDR Services for MSPs
Blackpoint Response, Blackpoint Cyber's offering on the Pax8 Marketplace, gives MSPs comprehensive cybersecurity coverage provided by analysts in the company's security operations center (SOC). Blackpoint asserts that its offering is the “first true MDR service with active, immediate response on behalf of the MSP.”
Blackpoint Response is a bundled offering of services that include:
- Malware and tradecraft protection in the cloud and on premises
- Real-time ransomware response
- Vulnerability management
- Application control
- Managed endpoint detection and response (EDR)
- Direct access to “elite” threat hunters and intel experts
In addition, Blackpoint offers a standalone cloud MDR service. Blackpoint asserts that its Cloud Response capability “brings the power of MDR to protect Microsoft 365 and Google Workspace environments with expert security monitoring and unified response capabilities.”
Recent Innovations and Capitalization
In 2023, Blackpoint launched Identity Response for Azure AD, a feature that, according to the company, provides organizations with "first-of-its-kind" cloud (MDR for single sign-on (SSO). Identity Response is available via Blackpoint's Cloud Response solution within the Blackpoint Response product bundle.
Blackpoint is a well-funded company, having received a $190 million growth investment from Bain Capital Tech Opportunities and Accel in June 2023. Blackpoint said it is using the investment to enhance its security technology, bolster its product portfolio and simplify the security stack for its MSP partners.
MSSPs, MSPs and other technology providers can join Blackpoint's partner program to incorporate the company's MDR capabilities into their portfolios.
