VC3 has purchased Wellteck IT to extend its reach across North America, according to a prepared statement.

Financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

This is technology M&A deal number 235 that MSSP Alert and sister site ChannelE2E have covered so far in 2023.

VC3, founded in 1994, is based in Columbia, South Carolina. The company has 471 employees listed on LinkedIn. VC3's areas of expertise include cybersecurity, managed services and technology enablement.

Wellteck, founded in 2014, is based in Midland, Texas. The company has 21 employees listed on LinkedIn. Wellteck's areas of expertise include cybersecurity, managed services and IT consulting.

What the Acquisition Means for VC3 and Wellteck

Together, VC3 and Wellteck will serve organizations of all sizes and across all industries throughout North America, VC3 CEO Ryan Vestby said. They will provide a variety of services, including:

  • Cloud

  • Cybersecurity
  • Data backup
  • Disaster recovery
  • Strategic IT planning

Meanwhile, VC3 provides Wellteck with a bigger team and additional competencies, Wellteck CEO Dylan Todd noted. In doing so, VC3 gives Wellteck "a higher ceiling under which to grow," Todd stated.

VC3 Purchases California-Based MSP

The Wellteck acquisition comes after VC3 in September 2022 bought Accent Computer Solutions for an undisclosed sum.  Accent expands VC3's solutions portfolio to include municipal and commercial customers in California, the businesses said.

VC3's North American presence extends across 34 states and eight Canadian provinces, the company indicated. Over 1,100 municipalities and 700 businesses use VC3's solutions, including:

  • Data backup and disaster recovery
  • Managed security services
  • Security assessments

VC3 Has Municipal League Partnerships in Place

To date, VC3 has established at least eight municipal league partnerships, according to the company. With these partnerships, VC3 delivers IT products and services to member towns and cities.

VC3 does not currently offer a partner program for MSSPs, MSPs and other technology providers. The company may look to develop and launch a channel partner program in the future.
