Malwarebytes has announced a Brute Force Protection solution to safeguard remote workers against Remote Desktop Protocol (RDP) attacks on Windows workstations and servers, according to a prepared statement. Brute Force Protection comes as organizations are increasingly exploring ways to secure their remote workers against RDP attacks during the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.
Brute Force Protection detects and blocks malicious RDP login attempts, Malwarebytes said. It is built on the Malwarebytes Nebula cloud platform and has been integrated into Malwarebytes Endpoint Protection (EP) and Endpoint Detection and Response (EDR) products.
In addition, Brute Force Protection offers a scan and detection engine that protects against infections from exploits, packaged and polymorphic malware, Malwarebytes CEO Marcin Kleczynski stated. This engine also is designed to minimize its use of CPU resources while scanning for infections.
Malwarebytes Partner Program
The launch comes as Malwarebytes reveals major momentum engaging MSPs. Indeed, the company's MSP partner program has grown roughly 150 percent over the past year, according to Mike LaPeters, VP of worldwide MSP and channel programs. The program gives partners more flexibility in terms of tiers, subscription-oriented payments and discounted options.
The partner program momentum further accelerated when Malwarebytes recently confirmed integration with ConnectWise Automate, the well-known RMM (remote monitoring and management) software platform that allows MSPs to maintain SMB customer networks. It's safe to expect Malwarebtyes to introduce additional MSP software integrations in the weeks and months ahead.
Overall, the Malwarebytes MSP partner program is appears to be growing as rapidly as RMM vendor programs during the MSP software market's early go-go years, MSSP Alert estimates.
Malwarebytes Partners with Cyber Insurer Coalition
Along with its Brute Force Protection announcement, Malwarebytes in October 2020 partnered with cyber insurance company Coalition.
Together, Malwarebytes and Coalition are delivering a joint solution that ensures that organizations can remain operational following a cyberattack, the companies said. The solution offers endpoint security and cyber insurance capabilities and empowers organizations to take a multi-layered approach to guard against cyberattacks.
Malwarebytes and Coalition also are offering financial incentives to encourage organizations to leverage cyber insurance and endpoint security. In doing so, they are helping organizations protect their endpoints against cyber threats and recover operationally and financially following cyberattacks.
More than 60,000 organizations use Malwarebytes solutions to identify and mitigate cyber threats, the company indicated. Furthermore, Malwarebytes offers a Managed Service Provider Program that lets MSPs integrate its endpoint security services into their portfolios.
