10. SIEM Market Forecast: The Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) market will reach $3.72 billion by 2023, up from $1.87 billion in 2016. That's a compound annual growth rate of 10.1 percent from 2017, according to Allied Market Research. Here's how SIEM will continue to impact enterprise security.
9. Talent, Part I: Carbon Black has hired Entrust Datacard veteran Sam Linford to head the security company's Southern European sales activity. This also follows the announcement last month of a new German Regional Sales Director, Volker Sommer, who will head up Carbon Black’s DACH region.
8. Talent, Part II: Cylance veteran Nicholas Warner has joined SentinelOne as chief revenue officer.

Endpoint Security Study: A recent Ponemon study, funded by Absolute, revealed organizations are finding it increasingly difficult to identify dark endpoints — the rogue, out-of-compliance, or off-network devices that create blind spots and increase an organization’s vulnerability to attack. 6. M&A - Security: Prevalent has acquired Datum Security for SMB-oriented third-party risk management platform.

Managed Government Security services: CyberDefenses, a provider of military-grade managed security services, has launched Credential Tracking Service (CTS) -- a service that identifies company credentials in discovered breaches and matches them directly to employee user profiles. The result: Organizations can now automatically identify compromised user credentials and invoke immediate changes to user access before adversaries gain surreptitious network entry, the company claims.
4. Electric Grid Security: Citizens Electric Corporation (CEC) has embraced N-Dimension's N-Sentinel Monitoring to help meet regulatory compliance and gain visibility into cyber threats, the companies say. CEC is a utility that operates transmission and distribution (T&D) power lines. We're checking in with N-Dimension to see if or how the company is investigating recent reports of Override malware that could potentially attack power grids.
3. Managed Response Services: Leidos Cyber Inc. has launched a Managed Detection and Response (MDR) service that goes beyond traditional MSSP and Incident Response (IR) services, the company claims. MDR is a continuous, end-to-end service that detects malicious threats earlier, provides comprehensive analysis of intrusions, and delivers immediately actionable guidance for future prevention based on intelligence gained, Leidos says.
2. Latin America Managed Security Services: The Latin America managed security services market will reach $1 billion by 2021, a Frost and Sullivan study finds. This is mainly due to increasing advanced threats such as targeted attacks, advanced persistent threats (APT), larger and more sophisticated distributed denial of services (DDoS) and ransomware, the report says.
