Small Businesses, Managed Security and MSPs: Research Findings

Share

Nine in 10 SMBs would consider hiring a new MSP if that particular MSP offered the right cybersecurity solutions, according to a new Continuum-sponsored research report from Vanson Bourne.

A similar SolarWinds MSP research report from 2017 found that 80 percent of customers were rethinking their managed IT security strategies and associated MSP relationships amid rising cybersecurity threats.

Cybersecurity Partners: SMBs On the Move?

One in four SMBs has already changed MSPs in the aftermath of a cyberattack, the Continuum research finds.

Moreover, SMBs planning to change providers are willing to pay 23.8 percent more on average for the right cybersecurity offering, Continuum asserts.

But here's the irony: Most MSPs say they're struggling to charge customers new premiums for security, MSSP Alert and ChannelE2E coverage has repeatedly indicated.

To help spur the market, some vendors now promote three-tier cybersecurity pricing models for MSPs to adopt. Also, Continuum has developed a go-to-market business plan for MSPs moving into cybersecurity.

We'll offer more thoughts on the Continuum research sometime this week.
