Smarttech247 and Abnormal Security are working together to protect European organizations against business email compromise (BEC), vendor and invoice fraud, credential phishing and other email attacks, according to the companies.
They also have secured a two-year contract worth nearly €400,000 (approximately $436,000) with an unnamed global organization in the aviation sector, the businesses said.
How Smarttech247 and Abnormal Security Protect Against Email Attacks
Smarttech247 is integrating Abnormal's email security capabilities into its VisionX managed detection and response (MDR) service, the companies announced. As such, VisionX will provide users with threat monitoring, incident response and analytics capabilities.
In addition, Smarttech247 will leverage Abnormal's cloud-native API architecture that ingests thousands of signals across organizations' platforms to build a baseline of known-good behavior of employees and vendors, the companies indicated. The architecture then applies artificial intelligence models to detect abnormalities in email behavior that indicate a potential threat is present and prevent attacks from reaching users' inboxes.
Smarttech247 VisionX Drives Security Efficiencies
VisionX provides around-the-clock security orchestration, monitoring and incident response, Smarttech247 said. The platform's features include:
- Attack surface intelligence management. The platform delivers insights into threats and attack vectors from Smarttech247's ThreatHub vulnerability scanning solution.
- Incident response and containment. The platform can be used with other security technologies and is backed by security analysts who identify and respond to alerts in real time.
- Phishing protection. From an integration with Smarttech247's NoPhish phishing detection and response solution, the platform offers an added layer of protection.
VisionX also can be used in conjunction with Splunk Security Intelligence and IBM Security QRadar SIEM (security information and event management), Smarttech247 noted.

Smarttech247 specializes in automated MDR. It has strategic partnerships in place with Abnormal, Splunk, IBM Security and other cybersecurity and technology companies.
At this time, Smarttech247 does not offer a formal partner program for MSSPs and MSPs to integrate VisionX and its other security solutions into their portfolios. However, Smarttech247 may look to launch a channel partner program in the future.
