Sumo Logic Unveils Free Cloud SIEM Training, Certifications

Sumo Logic, a cloud monitoring, log management and security information and event management (SIEM) tools provider, has added free Cloud SIEM and Observability certifications to its training program.

The news comes after Sumo Logic earlier this week announced a joint initiative with cross-browser testing company Sauce Labs to help organizations improve the health and security of applications throughout the development lifecycle.

The new certifications encourage Sumo Logic customers to learn how to use real-time data analytics across its Cloud SIEM and Observability solutions, the company said. That way, Sumo Logic customers can discover how Cloud SIEM and Observability can help them build, run and secure modern applications.

The certifications could appeal to MSSPs that are seeking more training for their staff members. Indeed, Sumo Logic's cloud-based SIEM is gaining momentum with global systems integrators (GSIs), MSPs and MSSPs, CEO Ramin Sayar asserted during the company's quarterly earnings call with Wall Street analysts on December 7, 2020.

Cloud SIEM helps security analysts monitor on-premises, hybrid and multi-cloud infrastructure, Sumo Logic noted. It combines analytics and automation to perform security analyst workflows and automatically triage alerts.

Observability provides tools that an organization can use to access application data across the development lifecycle, Sumo Logic said. It also provides analytics that engineers need to identify and solve issues.

The Cloud SIEM and Observability certifications empower Sumo Logic customers to "do more with their data," Chief Customer Officer Dione Hedgpeth said. They help Sumo Logic customers leverage real-time data and integrate Cloud SIEM and Observability into their programs, applications and systems.

Sumo Logic's certification program provides customers with the knowledge, skills and competencies to maximize investments in its continuous intelligence platform, the company said. In addition to the Cloud SIEM and Observability certifications, the program's trainings include:

Over 14,000 users have earned more than 25,000 free certifications since Sumo Logic launched its certification program in 2017, Hedgpeth stated. Furthermore, over 700 companies have participated in the program.
