Fishtech Group, a cybersecurity company that provides cloud, IT and security transformation services, has started construction of a 12-acre cloud security operations center (CSOC) in Martin City, Missouri.
The CSOC will deliver security-as-a-service (SECaaS) and managed security services to help end users protect assets outside network firewalls, according to Fishtech.
Fishtech said its initial SECaaS offerings will include:
- Amazon Web Services (AWS).
- Endpoint Security as a Service.
- Microsoft Azure.
- Microsoft Office 365.
In addition, Fishtech will offer Threat Monitoring, Threat Hunting and Incident Response as a service for cloud environments. These services will be available through a consumption-based (pay-as-you-go) pricing model, Fishtech stated.
Fishtech will offer its SECaaS portfolio later this year through its existing facilities, the company said.
A Closer Look at the Fishtech CSOC
The CSOC is expected to be open and operational by mid-2018, Fishtech said in a prepared statement.
Gary Fish, Fishtech's CEO, told the Kansas City Business Journal that the CSOC will cost about $8 million to build.
Fishtech this summer plans to add 30 to 40 employees to support its CSOC operations in roles such as security analysts, big data scientists and cyber threat hunters, the Kansas City Business Journal reported.
Fish, a veteran technology entrepreneur and founder of firewall management and security software company FireMon, launched Fishtech last year. The company now has 52 employees on staff, the Kansas City Business Journal reported, and is looking to accelerate its growth. The company apparently is spending $10.2 million to build out a new headquarters as well -- though we don't know if that also involves the CSOC expenses.
Fishtech's headquarters will include research and development operations and a showroom to display the company's cloud security technologies, the Kansas City Business Journal indicated.
Fishtech, Zscaler Launch Partnership
Partnerships also are under way. Fishtech last month announced a partnership with Zscaler, a cloud security platform provider. Together, Fishtech and Zscaler boast more than 20 years of security design and deployment experience, Fishtech said in a prepared statement.
The Fishtech-Zscaler partnership enables the companies to provide enhanced security through inspection of all internet traffic for advanced cyber threats and streamlined cybersecurity policy enforcement and administration, Fishtech indicated.
Also, the partnership can help end users avoid the bandwidth costs associated with backhauling traffic from remote offices, according to Fishtech.
