ECS, an ASGN subsidiary that specializes in cloud security managed services, digital transformation and engineering, has won a recompete five-year $430 million contract to support the Army Endpoint Security Solution (AESS).
The Fairfax, Virginia-based government contractor is a Top 250 MSSP for 2021 and #1 on sister website ChannelE2E’s Top 100 vertical market MSPs for 2021. ECS said it will continue to provide managed service operations and develop enhanced functionality for AESS 2.0, the next generation of the AESS platform.
ECS' Army Contract Detailed
As the AESS managed services provider (MSP), ECS provides the Army with traditional and advanced protections, such as data loss prevention, extended detection and response, and machine learning, threat prevention, web control, firewall, and adaptive threat protection.
As part of the new contract, ECS will:
- Expand the system’s endpoint detection and response capabilities.
- Create a unified asset management system providing increased visibility and management of all network devices managing the Comply to Connect (C2C) systems.
- Provide the Army unified visibility and reporting across the enterprise networks to better optimize compliance, threat detection, investigation, and response.
Mark Maglin, vice president of Department of Defense Cybersecurity at ECS, expressed enthusiasm for the mission ahead:

ECS Adds GATES Contract
This latest deal comes on the heels of two recent government contracts won by ECS, including a five-year $53 million contract to support the U.S. Transportation Command’s Global Air Transportation System (GATES), and a five-year $49 million contract by the U.S. Army in support of network transformation.
GATES manages all air and sea cargo and passenger movements for Department of Defense (DoD) missions. In that award, ECS will provide Agile software development to sustain and enhance GATES operations for a worldwide user base, as well as help desk and engineering support. ECS will migrate additional capabilities to the cloud and improve the Agile software development processes.
For U.S. Army contract, ECS will provide software licensing, engineering services, training, and laboratory services to support the accreditation, integration, testing, and fielding of security software products.
